Who: The Morning Benders

If on the same week somebody uploads a show you recorded in Paris for La Blogotheque and you play live to the famous radio show Morning Becomes Eclectic in KCRW is because you’re definitely doing it the right way.
My first approach to these californian musicians was trough their second album Big Echo, launched last march, what really captivated me from the beginning was their level of freshness on their voice and sound. The composition is “dreamy and romantic” as Jason Bentley, radio host and musical director of KCRW, point it out.

In direct they are a different thing. I had the chance to see them in two different countries while they were on a European tour and is it hard to imagine what comes next when you see these little creatures with their kid’s faces getting on the stage.
These rocker-children have a show with a perfect script to feed love to the crowd and make them sing until the last theme, even if you didn’t listen to them before. All songs are played in versions a little bit different than the ones on the album. Every show is unique, live they more games with the voices –very60’s- and the guitars brings an atmospheric presence to the product.
Just adorable.
