It’s not the first time that the ex member of Joy Division do a tour playing only songs he played with Ian Curtis. However, he was touched by a recent visit to his partner grave, so he wanted to commemorate his physical disappearance showing up in many cities of the UK and the USA. Peter Hook ended his nostalgic tour in L.A., celebrating the memory of Ian showing a documentary about Joy Division of aprox 20 minutes running time, the appearances on screen of Curtis made the crowd scream. It was a compilation of interviews with his friends and special shows they did on TV.
After the shortfilm, Peter Hook started the show with “Unknown Pleasures” on his entirety plus some other additional songs. Peter shared facts of the La Hacienda Club and how he got inspire on new sounds on those crazy nights in Manchester, like we saw it on the documentary 24 Hour Party People.
On the band, he was accompanied by his son, and said the good stuff about playing this songs with the “proper group”. This concert had its L.A. touch, the special appereance of Perry Farrell to sing “Transmission” in the end, a tired Hook closed the event with “Ceremony”, song that was never recorded by Ian.
