The Sex Profile is a new cell app developed by a publicity agency called Ester in Stockholm to promote safe sex between young adults in Sweden, and at the same time, to pick up some statistics about the subject. This social network is trying to take the act of using a condom into the fun side, helping to change the wrong mentality that many have towards it. You can download it directly from the App Store & Android Market, the only inconvenient is that neither the english or a spanish version is available at the moment.

How does it work? Once you’re in bed with your partner, you can open the app and leave the cell pretty close to you. The app measures the length, sound and rythm that you’re having. When you’re done you just make a click and it will be posted on your profile. Every minute you can see the last updates of those who are having sex at the moment. If you’re competitive you can compare your results with your buddies. If you’re blonde you can know if in fact blondes have more fun than brunettes. You can do whatever you want, but don’t forget to protect yourself.

It happens all the time in Grabaciones Jamaica, headquarters of En Petit Comité sessions and home of Tamarindo Música enterprise (México, D.F.): a memorable flow of artists generating and making compositions, performances, awesome singers, beautiful girls, an Irish nightingale, a tropical “wanatoz”, photographers, skaters and a mastermind AKA “El Chango”.

Santiago González was born musician and he learned guitar with his mother. He worked making ad campaigns (he’s still doing jingles for commercials) and he came back to his normal state to create Grabaciones Jamaica where the celebrated cicle called En Petit Comité was born. His first version came out with the band Simplifires, with the Irish super-vocalist Dave Francis O´Gorman. “Dave blew my mind, incredible, he fascinated me…”, says Santiago next to Alvaro “Wanatoz” (Tropikal Forever) and more recently Randy Ebright (The “ameri-naco” from Molotov).

“The studio is a tool for the musicians to explode all their potential to the limit without distractions…” affirms. His vision is transparent, without false aspirations and centered on the lost essence inside the beaten musical industry, it’s trying to help the artist. For the staff, this business isn’t an exhausting work but indeed a fresh drink that tastes like Agua de Jamaica, that’s the idea.

The Singer-writer Juan Manuel Torreblanca is a great partner and friend of Grabaciones Jamaica. He says this studio has a unique and genuine style that pushes it from the rest in Mexico City. Jamaica allows to watch and feel the creative process of the musician: Jamaica does what it has to do, understands and helps the artist”, explains Torreblanca.

Grabaciones Jamaica escapes from the conventional rules of sound recording and also from the generic studio decoration; it explores sounds and transform ideas without damaging the essence of the melody and desires of the public. It’s a studio characterized by the warmth of the team work. A positive vibe surrounds the place, an ideal tone to execute your projects with a particular seal. It’s the ideal place to be and be listened.

The story goes like this; I knew Jose Prieto back in the late ´90’s when he spent his time filling the streets of Caracas, Venezuela with punk alongside his band: The Go Go Punkers. They even had a cover of “Hit Me Baby One More Time” to laugh with the crowd and all.

Of all those gigs in Caracas only some photos, memories and an EP titled Four Punkers Around the Corner were left. The years passed, the grey hair came to hunt us and Jose, just as many others, came to the USA to have a new chance in life and now he’s armed and dangerous with Sad and French, a project that sounds like folk but that has a punk soul underneath and a lot of melancholy in its DNA.

The Project started as a Prieto’s solo experiment when he was walking around Florida looking for a muse before moving to Brooklin-NY where he lives nowadays. Today the band is a duet with a garage/folk/punk sound attached to it. Jose brings life to the vocals, the guitar and the bass-drum, while his partner Edwin Santacruz, a guy from Cali-Colombia, hits the strings of the double bass that ads a lot of Sad to the French, if you know what I mean.

Sad and French has a 5 song EP that you can download for free on their website, it was recorded on 2011 and many other songs Jose recorded by himself that also take part of Sad and French repertory. The full length album is going to be produced in Colorado in the near future.

Sad and French toured the US from coast to coast and they served as the opening show for musicians like Joey Cape from Lagwagon, Drag the River, Micah Schnabel, Cory Branan, Dave Hause, between others, and this year Europe will hear from them.
