The event had the honor to have an exquisite selection of designers such as Kayce Armstrong, Crystal 4 U, Lisu Vega & Dolcevita Cashmere. Friday February 15th, 2013 23:43 Wearable Drawings: Made-to-be-Wear Sketches

WHAT: Wearable Drawings de Elvira ‘t Hart
WHY: Because wearing “drawings” will be a trend

Wearable Drawings 02

By Lizandro Melean / @lizandro_melean

Designer Elvira ‘t Hart has taken fashion one step further, or should I say one step back?…Hart has a new clothing line called Wearable Drawings. The collection shows dresses, ready to wear, that look like sketches, those first lines a designer draws to illustrate what he wants for his/her next collection.

Wearable Drawings 06

Elvira has taken all her 2D sketches and she has turned them in 3D wearable pieces of clothing, the process was made using a laser to cut black leather and affixing it to sheer white fabric. “This project is about the research on how to translate something from 2D to 3D, which includes how we look at things that are flat or spatial, how we misinterpret or subconsciously use our imagination to fill in the missing information”, shares the artist.

This designer loves to draw everything that invades her imagination. She’s really imaginative and now she has turned every little line she has drawn in the past into a wearable piece of fabric “A lot of details contained within the first sketches are lost during the process of designing and executing clothing. By literally creating clothing patterns from the lines of sketches or sketching the patterns of clothing and cutting this out by laser, new shapes or suggestions of shapes are created.”

We can affirm that  turning your closet into a living sketchbook will be a trend this year.

Wednesday February 13th, 2013 10:14 The Blonds NYFW 2013: Fashion, Horror and Blondies

WHAT: The Blonds / NYFW Fall 2013

If Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock would have been fashionistas instead of well-known filmmakers, the result could have been pretty similar to the latest runway by The Blonds. Phillipe and David Blond were responsible of giving screams and drops of blood to the New York Fashion Week with their fall 2013 collection.

The knife is seen as a glam accessory and the horror and suspense as fashion elements, meanwhile Jack “Here’s Johnny” Torrance (Jack Nicholson) breaking the door in The Shining, Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) in the last scene from Psycho, and the horror queen Marion Crane (Janet Leigh), captured giving one of the biggest movie screams in history are all the stars of this horrific, but stylish clothing pieces.

The nails were done by CND Nail Fashion, MAC cosmetics did the make-up, and the models walked just as if they were inside The Overlook Hotel or at The Bates Motel. The front row had famous people like Carmen Electra, and on the runway they had tons of blond wigs and a lot of crystals that are already a signature of the brand.

The Blonds gave yesterday one of the best tributes to Psycho and The Shining that the fashion world has ever seen.

Sunday February 10th, 2013 21:49 Valentine’s geekiest gift: LED earrings

WHAT: The new LED earrings
$: $26.99

LED-Earrings 01

By Lizandro Melean / @lizandro_melean

Earrings. Everyone use them. Women, men and even Justin Bieber. Girls love earrings, necklaces, and others pieces of jewelry. If they shine a lot they’re better, that’s why people say “diamonds are a girl’s best friend”. These new LED earrings are for the geekiest girls around (and if you’re not too geeky, don’t cry girl, you can still wear them).

LED-Earrings 02

These earrings work with batteries. They come in white, blue, and red. When you want to go incognito (or when the batteries of your precious earrings are dying), wear the rubber backs (included in the package) and these will appear to be simple studs. We are in the future and we know you want to shine, so throw away your old earrings and open the door to the LED generation!

WHAT: Vintage de la Provincia

Vintage de la Provincia

Photos and Text by Sofía Blanco

@SofisBl

Vintage de la Provincia was born like a concept created by Leandro Oro and Sandra Marini. They alongside other partners are in charge to recollect a unique selection of vintage clothes with a style that can be summarized in three words: election, fun and colors.

Vintage de la Provincia @ Buenos Aires

Although right now they’re located in Buenos Aires, the name comes from their trips to the Argentinian provinces. Furthermore, the project has also been shown in Berlin, Croatia, Milan, England and Chile.

Shoes at Vintage de la Provincia

Through events they create via Facebook, Vintage de la Provincia organizes the sales of each new batch of clothes. These sales are usually made in fairs that also offer good music and the perfect mood to go shopping. They don’t have a store and they don’t stay in a single place because the itinerant nature of its showroom is what makes the concept appealing. If you want to be in touch with the brand you should be subscribed to the Facebook account so they can fill yours with updates.

Vintage de la ProvinciaVintage de la Provincia

Inside you can find clothing, accessories, purses, etc. Some clothes are from prestigious designers and others are from local talents. The prices are affordable and they vary depending on the style, model or brand you choose (Gucci, Moschino, Balenciaga and others).
