CoolHunting Project brings you the highlights of the Style Fashion Week 2013. This event is a part of the Los Angeles Fashion Week (March 11th-15th) and it took place inside Vibiana, a historical cathedral located in Downtown L.A. In the video you can see designs by Brigade LA, XCVI, Civil Society, Paulie Gibson, Roxanne Nikki, Bryan Hearns & Michael Cinco.

“Power, Corruption, & Lies” is the name of New Order’s sophomore album released in 1983. The album artwork was designed by the English graphic designer, and pioneer of modern typography Peter Saville, who also collaborate in others Joy Division and New Order album designs. Well, the news is that “Power, Corruption, & Lies” is not only a music record, now its flowerish design can be found in a pair of shoes.

Supreme, the Newyorker street-wear brand, will release three styles of Vans: the SK8-Hi, the Chukka and the Era on March 7th. Each of them with the “Power, Corruption, & Lies”  design, which at the same time was a reproduction of the painting “A Basket of Roses” by French artist Henri Fantin-Latour.

This time Supreme is bringing us a design that is not only intended for skaters, graffiti artist or rappers; the New Order fans will also be interested in this.

Designer Elvira ‘t Hart has taken fashion one step further, or should I say one step back?…Hart has a new clothing line called Wearable Drawings. The collection shows dresses, ready to wear, that look like sketches, those first lines a designer draws to illustrate what he wants for his/her next collection.

Elvira has taken all her 2D sketches and she has turned them in 3D wearable pieces of clothing, the process was made using a laser to cut black leather and affixing it to sheer white fabric. “This project is about the research on how to translate something from 2D to 3D, which includes how we look at things that are flat or spatial, how we misinterpret or subconsciously use our imagination to fill in the missing information”, shares the artist.

This designer loves to draw everything that invades her imagination. She’s really imaginative and now she has turned every little line she has drawn in the past into a wearable piece of fabric “A lot of details contained within the first sketches are lost during the process of designing and executing clothing. By literally creating clothing patterns from the lines of sketches or sketching the patterns of clothing and cutting this out by laser, new shapes or suggestions of shapes are created.”

We can affirm that  turning your closet into a living sketchbook will be a trend this year.
