If Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock would have been fashionistas instead of well-known filmmakers, the result could have been pretty similar to the latest runway by The Blonds. Phillipe and David Blond were responsible of giving screams and drops of blood to the New York Fashion Week with their fall 2013 collection.

The knife is seen as a glam accessory and the horror and suspense as fashion elements, meanwhile Jack “Here’s Johnny” Torrance (Jack Nicholson) breaking the door in The Shining, Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) in the last scene from Psycho, and the horror queen Marion Crane (Janet Leigh), captured giving one of the biggest movie screams in history are all the stars of this horrific, but stylish clothing pieces.

The nails were done by CND Nail Fashion, MAC cosmetics did the make-up, and the models walked just as if they were inside The Overlook Hotel or at The Bates Motel. The front row had famous people like Carmen Electra, and on the runway they had tons of blond wigs and a lot of crystals that are already a signature of the brand.

The Blonds gave yesterday one of the best tributes to Psycho and The Shining that the fashion world has ever seen.

CoolHunting Project estuvo en los alrededores del Page Museum de Los Angeles conversando con el cineasta venezolano actualmente residenciado en Nueva York: Francisco Lupini. De padre italiano, y madre española, este caraqueño graduado de New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts en el área de Film, Producción de TV y Litearatura Dramática en 2011 ha venido cosechando un admirable portafolio audiovisual que se expande a diario.

Teniendo a grandes del cine como Ingmar Bergman, Federico Fellini y Pedro Almodovar de influencias, Lupini se desenvuelve generalmente como guionista y director de sus creaciones. Actualmente, está en la pre-producción de su primer largometraje titulado La Maestra, y una serie de episodios Webs con una monja de protagonista que interactuará con el público a través de las redes sociales.

Lupini sólo tiene 23 años y su perfil de IMDB está repleto de color, humor, drama y sobre todo creatividad. No lo pierdas de vista.

CoolHunting Project was inside the premises of the Page Museum in Los Angeles talking with the Venezuelan filmmaker, currently living in New York, Francisco Lupini. Son of italian and Spanish parents this Venezuelan guy attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, graduating in Film and TV Production and Dramatic Literature in 2011. Since then he has crafted an interesting audiovisual portfolio that gets bigger and bigger with each passing day.

Having great cinema directors as his mentors like Ingmar Bergman, Federico Fellini & Pedro Almodovar, Lupini writes and directs his creations. Nowadays he’s working in the pre-production of his first feature film titled La Maestra and he’s also penning a web series that has a nun as the main character that will interact with the audience through social networks.

Lupini has only 23 years old but his IMDB is full of color, humor, drama and the most important thing: creativity. Keep him on track

The story goes like this; I knew Jose Prieto back in the late ´90’s when he spent his time filling the streets of Caracas, Venezuela with punk alongside his band: The Go Go Punkers. They even had a cover of “Hit Me Baby One More Time” to laugh with the crowd and all.

Of all those gigs in Caracas only some photos, memories and an EP titled Four Punkers Around the Corner were left. The years passed, the grey hair came to hunt us and Jose, just as many others, came to the USA to have a new chance in life and now he’s armed and dangerous with Sad and French, a project that sounds like folk but that has a punk soul underneath and a lot of melancholy in its DNA.

The Project started as a Prieto’s solo experiment when he was walking around Florida looking for a muse before moving to Brooklin-NY where he lives nowadays. Today the band is a duet with a garage/folk/punk sound attached to it. Jose brings life to the vocals, the guitar and the bass-drum, while his partner Edwin Santacruz, a guy from Cali-Colombia, hits the strings of the double bass that ads a lot of Sad to the French, if you know what I mean.

Sad and French has a 5 song EP that you can download for free on their website, it was recorded on 2011 and many other songs Jose recorded by himself that also take part of Sad and French repertory. The full length album is going to be produced in Colorado in the near future.

Sad and French toured the US from coast to coast and they served as the opening show for musicians like Joey Cape from Lagwagon, Drag the River, Micah Schnabel, Cory Branan, Dave Hause, between others, and this year Europe will hear from them.
